Contract Description:
In 2024, the Spokane Tribe of Indians and Bonneville Power Administration signed a Memorandum of Agreement to fund and implement actions that benefit fish and wildlife resources of the Columbia River Basin and are of significant cultural importance to the Tribe. This project (#2024-005-00 Spokane Tribe Land Pre-Acquisitions) helps to meet commitments made under the MOA in alignment with the Spokane Tribe's overarching goal of mitigating for fish and wildlife losses associated with Grand Coulee Projects. This contract provides expense funds to support pre-acquisition activities necessary to acquire ownership and management rights for properties within the Spokane Indian Reservation or within the Spokane Tribe's Usual and Accustomed area.

Properties scoped for the FY25 budget cycle at the beginning of the contract period (8/1/25) include:
1. Tshimikian (Anderson) - Stevens County, WA
2. Baldy Mountain (Hahn) - Stevens County, WA
3. Drum Road (Espinoza) - Stevens County, WA

Additional properties may be pursued at the discretion of the Spokane Tribe's Land Acquisition Specialist and BPA's Realty and Lands Teams. New properties must have a completed intake form and schedule an intake call before additional pre-acquisition actions can occur or funds can be assigned.
